Calcium formate

Calcium formate is a water-soluble calcium salt used to accelerate strength development in suitable cement-based materials. It changes early hydration behavior and supplies a soluble calcium component, helping formulated mortars develop handling strength sooner. Unlike calcium chloride, it introduces formate rather than chloride as the accompanying anion.

The selected technical powder is suitable for incorporation into dry-mix construction formulations. In tile mortars and repair products, it can help balance early strength with the required application period. Its acceleration response varies with the cement mineralogy and the other admixtures present. The material is an additive to the cement system, not an independent hydraulic binder.
