Polychloroprene rubber

Chloroprene rubber is a synthetic elastomer whose selected adhesive grades combine solvent solubility with crystallization-driven strength development. After a formulated adhesive is applied, solvent loss forms an elastomeric film and crystallization helps build early bond strength. The rubber backbone supplies flexibility and resilience to the bonded layer.

The selected dry rubber is a fast-crystallizing adhesive grade rather than a general molding compound or aqueous latex. It is dissolved and formulated with suitable resins, stabilizers and other ingredients. Contact adhesives use the tack and cohesive strength of the deposited films to join prepared surfaces. The balance of crystallization, resin compatibility and formulation determines open time, initial grab and resistance to movement after bonding.

Typical Applications

• Footwear contact adhesives: Used as the elastomeric binder in suitable adhesives for joining sole, upper and related footwear components.
• Decorative-laminate bonding: Used in formulated contact cements for bonding compatible laminates to wood-based or other appropriate substrates.
• Industrial assembly adhesives: Used in rubber-based adhesive formulations for compatible rubber, leather, foam and other flexible-material assemblies.
