Copper phthalocyanine blue (PB15:3)

Phthalocyanine blue PB15:3 is a beta-crystal copper phthalocyanine pigment with a green-shade blue color. It provides high tinting strength and color depth through a strongly absorbing conjugated structure. Its insoluble pigment form also supports durable coloration in suitable coatings, printing inks and plastics.

The selected material is pigment powder, not a soluble dye or a pre-dispersed color concentrate. Dispersion separates pigment agglomerates and distributes the particles through the binder or polymer, developing the intended shade and tint strength. The beta form distinguishes this grade from redder alpha-crystal blues. Resin wetting, particle distribution and the complete formulation affect gloss, transparency and color development.

Typical Applications

• Industrial and architectural coatings: Used to produce blue shades and to tint green or other blended colors in compatible coating binders.
• Plastic color masterbatches: Used as the blue pigment in concentrated color formulations for subsequent dispersion into suitable thermoplastic resins.
• Printing-ink pigment dispersions: Used in appropriate ink vehicles where a green-shade phthalocyanine blue is required, with grinding and dispersion developing the final color strength.
