Dexpanthenol solution (75% aqueous)

Dexpanthenol is the D-isomer of panthenol, a provitamin B5 ingredient used for moisturizing and conditioning skin and hair. Its hydroxyl-rich structure binds water, while its affinity for keratin-containing surfaces supports softness and manageability in hair-care products. It is used where a formulation needs both humectancy and a conditioning contribution.

The 75% aqueous grade is a concentrated liquid solution incorporated into the water phase or a compatible cool-down phase. Its active concentration differs from neat viscous D-panthenol and from solid DL-panthenol. The water-soluble format supports uniform distribution in emulsions, cleansing liquids and hair treatments, allowing the panthenol contribution to be set independently from the main emulsifier or conditioning surfactant.

Typical Applications

• Moisturizing creams and body lotions: Used in leave-on emulsions to support hydration and a softer skin feel. It complements emollient oils and other humectants in everyday moisturizing products.
• Hair conditioners and treatments: Used in rinse-off conditioners, masks and leave-on treatments to contribute softness and improve the feel of dry hair. The water-compatible concentrate is incorporated alongside the main conditioning system.
• Shampoos and scalp-care cleansers: Used as a conditioning additive in aqueous cleansing products. It adds a humectant and hair-feel contribution while the surfactant blend supplies the cleansing action.
