Monopotassium phosphate

Monopotassium phosphate is a water-soluble fertilizer supplying phosphorus and potassium without nitrogen. Phosphorus supports energy transfer and root development, while potassium contributes to water regulation, enzyme activity and movement of assimilates. Its concentrated nutrient composition allows these two elements to be adjusted independently of the crop’s nitrogen supply.

The selected crystalline product is the common 0-52-34 fertigation grade, with nutrient figures expressed as P2O5 and K2O equivalents. It dissolves to deliver phosphate and potassium ions and forms an acidic solution. In concentrated fertilizer stocks, compatibility with calcium-containing materials is important because insoluble phosphate can form. The product is a straight nutrient source rather than a complete crop-feeding formula.

• Fertigation and drip-irrigation feeds: Used to supply phosphorus and potassium through appropriate irrigation-nutrition systems, including stages requiring additional P and K without extra nitrogen.
• Hydroponic nutrient solutions: Used as a defined phosphate and potassium source when assembling a balanced multi-nutrient solution.
• Foliar fertilizer manufacture: Used in compatible soluble nutrient blends formulated for crop-specific foliar phosphorus and potassium supply.
