Antioxidant 1010

Antioxidant 1010 is a high-molecular-weight hindered phenolic antioxidant containing four phenolic stabilization sites. It donates hydrogen to oxidation-chain radicals, slowing thermo-oxidative degradation of susceptible polymers. Its relatively large structure supports low volatility and retention, helping protect material properties during processing and subsequent service.

The selected powder is a primary antioxidant for plastics, elastomers and compatible adhesive binders. It is commonly combined with phosphites or other secondary antioxidants that decompose hydroperoxides, so the package addresses both radical propagation and peroxide accumulation. Its role is chemical stabilization rather than optical screening of ultraviolet light. Polymer compatibility and distribution influence how effectively the phenolic groups protect the surrounding material.

Typical Applications

• Polyolefin compounds: Used in polyethylene, polypropylene and related formulations to help retain mechanical properties, melt consistency and color during heat exposure.
• Hot-melt adhesives: Used in compatible polymer and tackifier blends to reduce oxidative discoloration and property drift during manufacture and heated holding.
• Elastomer and engineering-polymer compounds: Used as a primary antioxidant in suitable formulations, often alongside processing stabilizers selected for the resin system.
