Potassium sulfate is a fertilizer source of potassium and sulfate sulfur. Potassium supports water balance, enzyme activity and assimilate transport, while sulfur is required for sulfur-containing amino acids and protein formation. Supplying the two nutrients together is useful where a crop requires potassium with a limited additional chloride input.
The selected material is a soluble powder in the common 0-0-50 fertilizer class, rather than a granular field-spreading grade. The potassium declaration is expressed as K2O equivalent; sulfur is supplied in sulfate form. Its lower chloride character distinguishes it from potassium chloride, but does not mean an absolute absence of chloride. Dissolution and compatibility with the other fertilizer salts determine suitability of the final feed.
Typical Applications
Fertigation nutrient programs: Used to supply potassium and sulfur through suitable irrigation systems, especially where chloride-sensitive crops are being managed.
Water-soluble fertilizer blending: Used as the potassium-sulfate component in compatible nutrient powders or liquid-feed preparation.
