(R)-1,2,3,4-Tetrahydronaphthalene-1-carboxylic acid

(R)-1,2,3,4-Tetrahydronaphthalene-1-carboxylic acid is a chiral tetralin building block used to introduce an R-configured bicyclic fragment into more complex molecules. Its carboxyl group supports amide formation and conversion into reduced one-carbon side chains. The fused aromatic and saturated rings provide a conformationally restricted framework around the stereogenic carbon.

The selected free acid differs from the S enantiomer and from racemic tetralin carboxylic acid.
