Sodium gluconate

Sodium gluconate is a sugar-acid salt that complexes metal ions and modifies hydration in cementitious systems. Its multiple hydroxyl groups and carboxylate group interact with calcium and other metals, helping keep them in solution under suitable conditions. In concrete, adsorption and calcium-related interactions can delay setting and improve workability retention.

The selected technical powder is used in construction chemicals and industrial cleaning formulations. In cement systems, its contribution is controlled retardation and associated plasticizing behavior. In alkaline cleaners, sequestration of hardness and metal ions supports cleaning efficiency and reduces interference from insoluble deposits.
