Ammonium nitrate (dense prills)

Ammonium nitrate is a concentrated nitrogen fertilizer supplying both nitrate and ammonium nitrogen. Nitrate is readily available in the soil solution, while ammonium can be retained on exchange sites before uptake or biological conversion. The two forms provide a complementary nitrogen supply for crop growth within a managed fertilization program.

The selected material is solid prilled agricultural fertilizer in the common 34.5% nitrogen class. It is intended for field distribution rather than described as a porous industrial product. Nitrogen supports canopy growth, protein formation and recovery of actively growing crops. Crop demand, soil nitrogen supply and weather determine how the fertilizer fits into a seasonal nutrient plan.

Typical Applications

• Cereal topdressing: Used to supply nitrogen during active crop growth when an additional fertilizer application is required by the nutrient program.
• Grassland and forage nutrition: Used to replenish nitrogen for grass or forage production, supporting regrowth after cutting or grazing.
• Arable and horticultural nitrogen programs: Used as a concentrated straight-nitrogen fertilizer where both nitrate and ammonium forms fit the planned crop nutrition.
