4-Bromo-3-nitroanisole

4-Bromo-3-nitroanisole is a brominated nitroaromatic building block used to construct substituted anisyl fragments. Its aryl bromide provides a site for carbon–carbon coupling, while nitro reduction supplies an aniline for subsequent nitrogen functionalization. The methoxy group remains as a defined substituent on the aromatic ring throughout many of these transformations.
